tandy.exe /sn76489 for SN76489 Cards on 0C0-> Prevents Tandy Check.

just tested it and it's brilliant! 😁
tested in my 233mmx build using 0C0h address , Paku Paku worked fine but that test program just froze the system... I remember this from the TNDLPT prototypes and I can't say I like it very much... it misses the ability to play a test tune (or I have not found yet how to do it)
I want to use the TNDY card in my main build now but I am waiting for some patches collection that will allow a different address than 0C0h so it can be permanently enabled without issues.

You can always use the TSR or EMM386 to remap the port. Since basically all Tandy games are real mode, this should be no problem.

nah , the best way is to have patched drivers no tsr and extra stuff on top 🤣

maybe you can try a older version.. i will attach one. Maybe it has to do with latest additions ?

A great way for AT`s is using a 3 Pol Switch connected to JP1, so you can change beetween 0C0 and 0E0 as needed.

i also tried some game patching but where not very successful.
i disassembled Civilsations Tandy Sound Part, and now installed IDA Freeware.. but i can`t seem to get it properly.
Seems Civilisation has some kind of self integry check.

basicly i tried to find all 0C0.. and replace them with 0E0..

well tested it again without running anything and it worked with no freeze
could be many things, mainly 0c0h in ss7 system
would be great to add a button with a test tune though for fast results

it is my belief that the card will be more "valuable" if supported games could be patched and work without issues in all systems with no extra software...
I know this will begin to sound like a broken record but that's something unavoidable IMHO... I am not a software guy else I would be all over this 😁

Here is the Test Tone Generator 0.1, but it does not support every port number

its not yet implanted into tandy test tool, when jan knipperts has more time he will finish the tool.

even then isn't there the issue of tandy bios/machine checks?

yeah here you can patch the system bios rom.
the most important issue is the lack of tandy video card 😁
many games only will give you tandy sound with tandy video.

later titles also supporting vga upgrades and so on should work fine then.
