It was popular world wide but I dare say the 300A was also just as popular if not more so with the budget crowd who wanted unparalleled bang for buck so they could throw more money at the GPU.

That 300A was likely a mistake on Intel's part or a genius move by their marketing boys to get even more mind share, wouldn't have been the first time Intel has done a move like that to grab a bigger market share.

If it was a mistake, they gladly repeated it 1:1 with the E4300 which would usually also ran at fsb300 instead of 200 and was bargain basement.

If the first was a mistake then every one after was a marketing stunt !
