OK, so the other OSes aren’t always installed in the system, basically my Sata to IDE Bridge board is mounted under the floppy drive, so I swap out the drives on the fly, the bios is up to the latest version and it’s for a dell dimension 4100 and sadly those bios’ are kind of limited in what they can do compared to something like the Phoenix choice bios, the only cards on my computer are the RTL8139D Nic, video card (GeForce fx 5200) and Audio card (ALS4000) so in windows it says the device is working properly, but it always says destination host unreachable when I try to ping in command prompt, also with Internet connection sharing it seems to not work first it shows a code 2 error about the ndis.vxd driver not working and then if I try to re-add Internet connection sharing through the add and remove programs panel. It says install your Internet hardware first even though it is. Even though I’m not gonna ever use that just seems like it’s kind of giving me something about what’s going on. I’ve also fresh installed 98 a bunch of times and completely wiped the drive each time as well. I thought maybe I could update 98 and then it would work with the driver, but I realized also that windows update restored is probably the best way to do it but that requires an Internet connection and I don’t like to use any of like the unofficial Service pack or autopatcher since in my experience they’ve just made windows way buggier, also I know I have a USB ethernet adapter that I had with my Wii that works in 98 surprisingly with a driver I just don’t know where it is at the moment so maybe if I manage to find it that could be a temporary thing until I figure this out
