Audigy series is "period correct" for a P4 though, and the "advanced processing" actually adds features that the CPU can't do (assuming you're using Windows XP), like CMSS-Headphone, DS3DHW, and EAX. IMHO it's very much worth it. 😀

Well I am using Windows 2000 and ME , but I will see what the price difference is and if I can track one down for cheap + shipping to South Africa.

All of it's processing would still apply to 2k/ME. I should have clarified: it's Vista and later that deprecate features like DS3DHW and EAX. As far as I'm aware CMSS still exists in Vista though.
