Thanks to Carlostex the system now has IDE capability. Only "problem" I ran into is that I only had modern IDE cables with pin 20 blocked, and the connector on the XT-IDE card has all 40 pin present. I tried removing pin 20 from the connector with a pair of pliers but Carlostex did good soldering and it wouldn't budge 😊 So in the end I "modded" a cable with a very sharp needle and it works fine.

I thought about putting the card reader in the front 3.5" slot but in the end I decided to put it in a bracket at the back. I got a pair of used Addonics CF-Reader on ebay and the seller included some handy round IDE short cables, so the reader sits nicely next to the XT-IDE card at the back.

I stuck a 512mb CF card with Dos 6.22 on it and it booted straight away 😀 I asked Carlostex to include HD floppy support for drive A: so I now need to find a suitable I/O card as the one included with the PC can't manage anything more than 720k floppies.

Anyway I'm really happy with this addition to the system as I'm now able to put a lot of games on the Card and leave it there, instead of constantly having to swap floppy disks 😀

(sorry for the crappy pictures, only have mobile phone at the moment)
