How about setting this font for mobile devices? It works well with low resolutions 😉

Most new mobile devices these days have higher resolutions than the typical PC. 🤣

The dominant color will continue to be purple, except the font is currently white for better contrast. But of course things might change as it is still work in progress.
I don't see any white wording. Words on this site are white if they're a link and you hover over them. I'm not criticizing or anything, I'm just making a statement (if you were referring to my first post in this topic). I just hope there won't be too many changes to the board style, which might upset people who already enjoy the current Vogons theme/template 😎
unless you have permission by Qbix you can't see the white font. He is talking about the new look that is being worked on behind the scenes...
All I ask is: please do not break the site on RetroZilla / Firefox 2! It is one of the primary browsers I use to access this forum!

I'm guessing I do not have permission then... 😦
Does this whole "white wording" thing mean that there's going to be no more brown words? And if Qbix is going to be adding the white font, maybe he could spice it up by having it as sort of a "blueish white" color, that'd be neat.
I see I kicked off a bunch of replies... Sorry Qbix. 🙁

At first it was a bit difficult to use Vogons on Android. Yet if you learn a bit of tricks on how to use it on something like Android. Well. Then I see no problems here. Sure I have to zoome in and out, using two fingers. Yet that is a part of the charme. A tiny bit annoying that it is kind of hard to upload files and pictures from a mobile device. Yet there is no need for it. Just use a real computer and not a crippeled computer. Well... Mobile devices are kind of crippeled by nature, compared to a real computer.

I check Vogons forums everyday from my iphone 7. While I'm sure the experience could be better, but it really doesn't bother me at all. I certainly wouldn't say it's hard.
I can read the forum from my Android phone, too, with 5.7" edge-to-edge screen, in landscape orientation using Chrome.
Please don't change the style of vogons.org that we had accustomed to for the disgusting touch UI interface. This forum is great as it is now!

Same here, iPhone X. I try portrait mode, but it’s annoying so I end using landscape mode. A little better

My Android phone makes the site not good for my eyesight in portrait mode and sometimes, landscape mode is a bit worse or works in some cases.
I can pair my phone to my 43" 4K Roku TV and the text is better on there.

Reminds me of late 90’s early 2000s website designs. More like early 2000s, these kind of buttons were a trend in that era.

Posting from my Samsung Note 9, and this site works great. It doesn't have this oversized look you get on other sites designed for mobiles.

No, it dates from 2013: Re: The Demise of MobyGames

I just saw a forum using a Windows 9x style theme. I thought it was amazing, but I didn't want to disclose the url or name here because I don't know what really are the rules here for this type of thing...

I'll admit, first time I saw that, I was actually frightened. Took a minute to sink in.
About this site's mobile usability, I don't have any issue with it. In fact, I'm posting this from my Galaxy phone right now. It has a 5 inch screen, and while the text is small, I can still read it. I have no problem zooming in. On my 10" Android tablet, it's just like the desktop site. I also have a 7 inch Windows 8.1 tablet that I occasionally post from, although I do have to do a bit of zooming on it.
