This here for example has the right footprint, but is like most jacks low profile:

Hm, The footprint of your jack looks wrong. I don't think it will fit...

Sorry, I wasn’t clear... Yes, I know - they have different footprints...

I don’t understand why those PCBs weren’t designed with a jack I pointed at - fits ISA bracket much better, I use it in my designs...

This PCB was just a first prototype, and back then we already discussed this issue, and that the PCB should be modified before a second run.

I apprciate all the efforts that went into the card design, I think it will still turn out great. Going to order the smaller pots, drill some brackets and then I can send out the kits.

Yea, both cards I have, work fine and sound good. I never drilled the brackets myself, because I don't have the right equipment, but I think they should fit fine with the smaller pot.
I think you could also use a bit of cardboard as a 'shim' underneath the jack, so it is not as close to the PCB, to position it better for the bracket. The pins are long enough, so you can still solder the jack on there if there is a shim of a few mm under there I suppose.

Perhaps when the PCB is modified, you could use the same 3.5 mm jack that keropi uses on the Music Quest Clone?
That one is perfect for use on an ISA card, fits right in the middle of an ISA slot. It even has the green colour code commonly found on output jacks of sound cards.

Last order with new jacks and pots are made. As soon as those arrive and the pots and jacks work, I will send out the kits. Oh, and I have to fit and drill the brackets of course. That will take a wee bit time as well.
Will start soldering two cards before that. One for obaltus and one for me. Will post a video about the progress.

Edit: wrong nick for the other complete card.

Packed the kits today. Missing: pots, jacks and brackets. Will add them to the kits when they arrive/I have drilled the brackets. I added sockets for all ICs, if you want to use them. The amp is to be used without a socket, according to the datasheet. However since they are old components you still might want to use a socket. I also added an extra amp IC for free to the four kits. Just to be sure. 😉

First bracket drilled. Fits quite nicely. The small pot also seems to fit. I have to touch up the solder joints once more and measure continuity and resistance, but I think it will work. As said, you need to bend the outer legs outwards towards the holes. The middle ones fit into the holes without excessive bending.

It will take me a couple of days to drill the brackets, then I can start sending out all the kits and PCB/bracket combos. If someone wants the bracket NOT to be drilled, please say so. Because your pot/audio jack might NOT work. I can also sell you the fitting pot/jack if needed. I have enough for every board.

How much for the fitting pot and jack?

The pot and jack cost me 3€ and 1€ including taxes. (2.66€ and .83€ excluding taxes)

So 4€ for both, and I‘ll make a tiny loss.

Man, what a cool project! Are there still kits/PCB's available? I could'nt really tell from the Google Sheet.

I will note the wishes in the google sheet. And yes, a second payment will suffice.

Cyrix200+: I have a PCB plus SAA1099 and TEA IC left over. Plus pot and jack and maybe also a bracket. No full kit though. Still interested?
