The adapter fits really badly to my EGA card, as the card's connector is so far down on that the rear of the computer has to sit right by the edge of the table so the adapter can drop down behind it, as it were.
Thus, I want to buy a DB9 male-to-male cable, so the adapter can be placed somewhere else. Will any DB9 male-to-male do, or must I look for particular ones adapted for RGB signals?
Hi, I think 8x8 is used for CGA emulation (incl. that boxy font).
Maybe the card is being jumpered to boot up in CGA mode? If so, that would explain it.
