Back in the rear projection TVs, one brand had large module full of bad SMD electrolyte capacitors and they number about 50 of them and there were room for standard small capacitors with cut leads and bent L to sit on the pads. Done few of these fixed them up, you have to plan ahead where to plant them without "painting into corner".
Best method with these is take a long nose pliers and bite into the top of this and twist back and forth few times while bearing against board, till leads breaks, leaving the remains on the pads.
