I have never heard of 'MFPLAY.EXE' and Google cannot give meaningful results either. Do you have more info about this DOS Midi program?

A few from Japan, they need a midi device (even on a serial cable), no FM sound, the first two need DOS/V:

This last one works in ega or vga mode, and supports pc speaker too.
