Took delivery of this Dell PS2 keyboard intended for my Windows 98 machine. It's in great shape cosmetically and feels nice to type on.

Unfortunately, it does have some issues as pressing certain keys results in extra "n" characters being returned.

I'll have to take it apart to diagnose what is going on. I'm hoping it might be as simple as just cleaning the underlying board and not a more substantial fault.

Never had any issues with the internal 250MB IDE variant. Solid in my experience.

reminds me that I got a free IDE zip drive that also came with a bracket for 5.25" bays, but I didn't have any zip disks so I never really got to test it.

Well good for u, u happened to deal with good seller. When i sell stuff i give 20 days warranty on my retro parts. Some stuff even have more warranty, that if the thing fail in that period of time i will refund back the money to the buyier.. And i dont even sell on ebay (at least yet).. ASUS back in the day was top notch, I still have first model of 386 ASUS motherboard (first model they ever produced) and it works just fine, so are some of my other 386 and 486 and Pentium motherboards. To be honest only ASUS things which died on me were literally:
- A8N-E (may have been killed by the PSU).
- K7M (it died laying in box - well it's not fully dead, perhaps some caps dried up because it works until it heats up, then hangs up).
- Several ASUS notebooks - I must admit, that ASUS notebooks are crap compared to Dell machines... but well, every other notebook brand is crap compared to Dell... 😁
- Some budget ASUS graphic cards.

Other than that ASUS and early AsRock motherboards are very reliable (ie. budget ASUS boards compared to budget Gigabyte boards - even in the capacitor plague period, and especially to post-2000 MSI board which are super unreliable).

So in my opinion you were simply unlucky but that doesn't change that ASUS was and still is a very decent brand when it comes to motherboards.

my CUSL2 just croaked on me, my P2B v1.04 is working perfectly though. i do want to find a slotket for it to use the 933 mhz p3 coppermine on there.

Been testing this haul off eBay I got for £15. Both Wii's, their PSUs and sensor bars work. Just got the PS2 RGB SCART cable delivered and found the PS2 works too!

Got this NOS built-in speakers for 5.25" bay (Stereo with additional small "boom" speaker under the center grid).
The seller had several, so I've bought two to use for my PC-collection.
Will use one with my 486 machine 😀

I've seen that recent LGR video where he had those as separate units and the "sub-woofer" actually had more treble and less bass than the main stereo speakers. So, how terrible are those that you got?

In the 90s I used to have such speakers but these "speakers" were more like "squeakers" (non HIFI) 😀
But for a Game of Commander Keen it's absolutely OK for me 😀
... and the "Boom-Speaker" isn't that small at all.

As long as I won't play "rhythm nation" there shouldn't be any problem 😀
... and about the magnetics - the speaker is placed far enough from the HDD.

While checking out some Vintage stuff on the bay I couldn't help but grab a couple of things for my DOS era bench.

a very nice STB Velocity 128zx PCI and an AMD K5 PR166, I dont think ill ever get the PR200 but I do wonder if this 166 can overclock, I got nailed on the postage for the Velocity but undercut the initial price with a lowball offer.

This little card should have great image quality being a STB model, should also be quite good on DOS compatibility too.

The K5 was cheap and I dont have a K5 on the DOS bench.

The 133MHz and 3.3Vs are also Prime 95 stable. HERE is also a older video from me with with this CPU and a Voodoo Rush.

Just received 2 nice SL7AA 3.2Ghz Pentium extreme Edition Sockel 478 CPUs.
I was a bit afraid since i couldnt track the parcel for almost a week.

I've wanted one of these for a long time, so when I found this NOS for a not completely ridiculous price I bought one. I swapped the K6-2 400 for a K6-3+ 400, and it's now running @ 450 MHz in a PCChips M520.

IIRC you could get K6-2 or 3 running on an M520 at 2.5V but the regulator isn't up to running them past about 333-350.

Maybe a different revision, but the one I have is single plane voltage only unless you have the plug in VRM. I'd prefer to use a plug in VRM, and if Necroware ever releases a kit for the one he designed I'll likely get a couple (I also have an M507 that could use one).

Right. Thanks for reminding me about those, I wonder if I could use one on the T2P4 P54i single plane boards I've got somewhere when they surface. Though since I've got the P55i split plane version around somewhere also I should sit them side by side and see if I can just add components. I think I vaguely recall checking near 2 decades back and it was too different.
