I keep getting that page doesn't exist.
So I can't see it enough to tell.

But if it looks like mine above, then yes.

Now, try spaces where they have spaces, and tabs where they have tabs.

not sure I did the TABBED like you did, how did you make it a long TABBED? still, I checked and find the line that should be spaced in F-Key Displays / Cameras section but not sure is that the cause, booted up the game, launch the mission, still getting that pop-up message about input channel Up/Down on device mouse not exist.

See the target friendly line?
That has tabs.
They used spaces for everything else.
Try spaces.
The length is a option in notepad++ and is only a visual preference. Ie, it doesn't matter.

Personally, I'd match the exact number so all columns line up. Just incase they read from an exact offset. Ie column 1 =0, column 2=25.

Programmers can choose many ways to skin a cat.

Do what they have done for both files and see if it works.
In one, they seem to use spaces. In the other, spaces and tabs.

It might not make any difference, but it also might so it's best to make the format exactly as they have.

I'm jumping in waaaay at the end here. I've been fighting to get Mercenaries 95 running for quite a while now. I've got all the dos versions running, had them for probably 10 years at least. I've got all the titanium versions running, yuck, but the salvage. I really want to try to get mercs 95 1.1 running. I've started from the beginning of this thread and I seem to be getting nowhere.

I have an archos tablet and dell latitude both running win7 32 bit, two legion laptops, one is a y520, one is a Loq, both on win 11 64, and a legion go on win 11 64 I believe. The two win 7 machines run the titanium versions, and I don't think my win 11s will. The Legion Go seems to be the friendliest with allll the old mech games, I've got mech 3 and 4 running well on it, and the y520 is next after that, been using the 520 the longest. Have had everything but the windows versions of mw2 running on it. I forgot, I've also got an old laptop running 98, another Dell I believe it was. I may have gotten mercs native running on it but the performance was so bad it was unplayable.

All that to say, I may not know what I'm doing, but I sure have put a lot of miles down trying to get somewhere with this.

I'm currently trying the dxwnd route on win11 but I feel like I've got blinders on and I'm missing something. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Uh... What os? Config?
Because Microsoft seriously broke it a while back.

And that config worked for me. The old one is still on here somewhere.

Mercs got menu issues with the scaling when using ddraw, and mercs doesnt use glide, even when using the mech2.org 1.1patch with mechprep.
Plus the game menu window doesnt scale all the way to 800x600 or even 1024x768 when using the options menu which would do under dxwnd config, and mechprep needs 800x600 to work to make the game work on 1080p too
Also as people said here earlier, the game locks at 640x480 which shouldn't since mercs 1.1 also supports higher resolutions

Update: i decided to say fuck it tho those 2 and dgvoodoo2 and test cnc-ddraw+TitaniumMercs, the game now works on a small window as the other mech 2 games with no resolution problems, and recognizes 3dfx only, even scales up.
And no issues at all, though mechprep doesnt work since titanium automatically locks into 640x480 in my end, even the soundtrack(original mercs, not titanium) rip at the music folder is working

I'll upload the dxwnd config later so people here can test it since all i did was check the resolution scaling.
Update2: here

Oh?
So... you're using directX instead of DGvoodoo?

The installer I made has only ever used dgvoodoo.
I never really thought to try DX because I didn't realise any of the versions would offer anything above 640 anyway.
Also there are a dozen versions of each game and dgvoodoo was the most overlapping.

Which variant are you using? It sounds weird that you're patching titanium. AFIK it was already 1.1+

I tested all 3d accelerated releases= 3dfx, environmental and now titanium which i never tested out.
dxwnd and cnc-ddraw doesn't work with each other, it even gave warning to not load both at t he same time, but that made not only the menu behave normally without scaling problems, but also made the game recognize dgvoodoo2's 3dfx on which dxwnd for some reason wasn't hooking it, and it recognized even the 4:3 CRT emulation mode, even the mercs music worked well.

Spoiler

udtBuYa.jpeg

whatever this mystery is, it fixed titanium mercs, though there is one or two random crashes when exiting to menu due to said mentioned warning.

Ok...
So you're trying to use this cnc-ddraw which afaik no one else had ever mentioned in this thread.

And how does the installer work without any changes?
Because, frankly, while you're welcome to do whatever you like, it's not something I'm going to "fix".

No one has tried this to see if it works, so i gave it a try, not only it fixed the resolution shenanigans mercs had, but for now is something.
plus, i hope dege or someone decides to check on mercs to see if its possible to fix this issue with the menu window and enable more resolutions out of the box

You need to work on your communication.

This is what you started out with: "whatever the config mercs is using, isnt working and dgvoodoo2 has issues with it to run in 1080p
the previous config dxwnd had had no problems with it"

It's taken several questions to get to the point where I think I understand what it is you're trying to do.

It was late night and i couldn't explain so here is what i meant to say, i said here before like months ago, that mercs had issues with dgvoodoo and dxwnd, i even had problems with dgvoodoo2 ddraw and GBL, i even had issues with the soundtrack in mercs and stopped for a while due to personal problems, but back then the default dxwnd config for mercs was messing with the window scaling for mercs menu and ingame always stuck in fullscreen 640x480 in ddraw mode and never recognizing 3dfx dll's.
But now that i decided to check on it again, mainly now that i managed to make mech 3 work here with nocd+ the tickfix, i wanted to do something since dgvoodoo2 wasnt working, which was cnc-ddraw, and voila, all the issues the game had suddenly disappeared, even the window works properly now, but mostly due to cnc-ddraw and dxwnd not being compatible with each other,

The attachment titanmercs proper window.jpg is no longer available
The attachment titanmercs cnc-ddraw+dxwnd issue.jpg is no longer available
The attachment mercswin 2025-07-30 12-41-47_923.jpg is no longer available

i hope that someone speaks with dxwnd dev about this or even explains this because, i don't know how this works, but it fixed this dreaded issue with mercs menu and not hooking the glide files.
