I skipped on it because of the fans. They are probably difficult or impossible to replace. That would mean that the entire heatsink would have to be swapped out, necessitating a compatible replacement. It just makes things a little more complicated.

I have the ASUS AGP-V6800DDR Deluxe/64M which should be similar to this model.

Just had a closer look and mine is this one here

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-v6 … 00-deluxe.b1879 has the 3d glasses as well along with the video in/out stuff.

Nabbed it in 2022 for about 125 USD which is a good price for one of these cards.

Deluxe version with 64MB of SGRAM, Nice!! That is a great card. Beefy Chonker 256.

I had not seen a 64Mb DDR model before mine so its nice to see another in working order !

The 3d glasses are kinda cool too but more of a novelty rather than useful.

Do you have a picture of this card and its memories? I'm curious if its SGRAM or SDRAM!

Infineon or Samsung? Do you have the model number on the Ram chips?

Good thing: I got a P2B-DS
Bad thing: It keeps resetting if I have two CPUs installed. It'll get as far as doing the usual beep then it automatically restarts. BIOS doesn't look retail (VMP in the Sign-On string instead of "ASUS P2B-DS ACPI BIOS Revision nnnn").

Other than that... couldn't get the P3B-F working. Bits und Bolts' videos didn't help either.

Is there any chip responsible for Vcore ref? Maybe the 2nd cpu adds a value that isn't recognized correctly.

Mine is SGRAM from Infineon in case that helps.

Are the SG-Rams slower than DDR ones?

SGRam is supposedly the better one,but the memory timings/latency's are mostly identical

64MB with chips on both sides. It's the only one I have of the DDR model.

Hmmm I'm confused becuase unless im reading the data sheet wrong these are 4MB chips x 8 on the card for a total of 32MB's of ram.

Collecting components for my new mATX build featuring my 2.5" Seagate 80GB IDE with adaptor, (see images). Curious to learn other members experiences using same/similar drive combos. I chose the smaller drive to lessen bulk and weight, but at the same time wanted to remain partially period authentic, plus I felt using an IDE may also help me avoid compatibility issues in particular circumstances?

What you loose in bulk and weight you also lose in speed, these smaller drives are slower than their 3.5" brothers, this one is 5400 RPM.

But depending on what system its going into that may not be a huge issue.

I see zero reason to not use an SSD.
They're so damn cheap.

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install

True that. I got a 120GB Samsung 840EVO that I plan to use although IDK if I should use it on an Athlon XP or something older (like 440BX "high end" build, P2B-DS build if I get the board running, or a Tualatin 1133 OC build with either ABIT ST6R or MSI 815EPT Pro-R.)

Interesting - I read an article where somebody compared sg and ddr versions of these "256er"-cards and the sg-based card was a bit slower.

Got a Gainbery P120 Upgrade CPU for socket 4. While I am happy to have it, there's not much use-case for retro computing. In my opinion the point of using a Socket 4 is to use the P60 or P66 after all.

It's nevertheless an interesting piece of hardware which I've never heard of. Did they make their own core or is it some Cyrix/AMD/you-name-it deriative?
And is it about twice as fast compared to the first gen Pentium?
