GeForce 4MX is a GeForce 2Ti on a smaller die with less heat.
GeForce 5FX is a GeForce 3/4Ti on a smaller die with less heat.If you already have a Ti for display, why not heat up a later cheaper and more robust X?
For a bonus, sometimes the later X's have faster VRAM chips just by chance, and sometimes they have half-bandwidth VRAM.. but that's another thread 😉
