I only have one 16BGC, so I don't know enough about them to say how well they overclock in general, but of all my 5x86s it's the best at overclocking. I believe this one will get me into NT4 at 180MHz, but will crash after a few minutes. Even with a tweaked voltage it's still not stable though. (tried everything from 3.3v to 3.95v). So the 16BGC is the best of all my 5x86 chips, but still not good enough. Strangely the only ADZ I have won't even POST at 160.

16BGC was my best as well, but not stable at 180 MHz 4V. DOS did fairly well, but not Windows.

That’s NOT a 486 but 5x86.

That was only marketing by AMD. The AMD 5x86 was also called 486DX5, as written on some variants. It's an ordinary 486 CPU (unlike the Cyrix 5x86).

Can you play MP3’s ?

You don't need an overclocked AMD 5x86 to play MP3s. Even a DX4-100 can do that already.

Heh, I wonder that 486 can run FSB much over 50MHz, are you all using PCI MBs? How about VLB? I though that VLB at 50MHz is a bit problematic and allows only one card in VLB slot and not all cards even run at 50MHz. AFAIK VLB MBs have all synchronous FSB-VLB 1:1 unlike PCI MBs that has some divider or async clock for PCI...
I have just one Am486DX5-133V16BHC from ali. It runs stable at 133MHz, 3,3V but I have issues at 4*40MHz on VLB MB described here: Data Expert EXP4044 ver. 1.0 (486 VLB) MB repair and VRM add
I had to relax L1/L2 cache timings to get it stable, esp. under Quake. I can confirm that when there's some stability problem Doom can pass but Quake crash at start or during timedemo. I need some VRM mod. Fixed voltage regulator was not definitelly a good choice...
