Yes I always do the same, IRQ7 is a must if you mess with older games.
One example is that for years I thought that the GODS intro had short samples on DOS version and they messed the port - it turns out the game needs IRQ7 to play the full length of them ... so nowdays I just stick to IRQ7 and call it a day
