Reaching Khan =gbl?
The trick to that is to NEVER die in the entire game.

I've not played GBL yet, it's the base MW2 I'm on about. In the DOS version when you start either Jade Falcon or Wolf you should start as rank Mechwarrior (I'm not sure if you have to complete the training trial or not to get promoted to Mechwarrior) then after completing both phases of the first trial you gain two ranks which should make you a Nova Commander, but for some reason in the Titanium Edition you start has a Cadet (completing the training trial doesn't get you promoted to Mechwarrior), so after completing the trial you can only gain the rank of Star Commander, one behind Nova Commander because the phase one promotion takes you from Cadet to Mechwarrior then phase two promotes you to Star Commander. It is a known bug apparently, when I realised what was happening I did some googling and found an old post from years ago talking about it. Here's what I found https://www.mech2.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1064

Hey Myne, I have used the Mech 2 installer to install the 3DFX and the Pentium Editions and both launch in windowed mode that's very small, where as the Titanium Edition launches in full screen. Is there anyway to launch either/or the 3DFX and Pentium versions in fullscreen like the Titanium Edition? I messed around the dgVoodoo and DXWND to try and get it to lauch fullscreen but nothing worked. The reason I'm asking really is because of the Titanium bug that starts you out as a Cadet and not a Mechwarrior so you can never reach Khan even if you pass all the trials, which is bugging me! Also, I'm sure you've been told this a million times already but thanks for the installer. I never got to play the 3D versions of the game back in the day just the original DOS version (I couldn't afford a 3D accelerator at the time) and not only does this take me back 30 years but it's like I've never played it before because of the graphical changes that came out later. Thank you once again.

Find the .exe of those games, right click on it, go to PROPERTIES, on COMPATIBILITY tab, at settings, tick RUN IN 640 x 480 SCREEN RESOLUTION.

That was how I made the menu & briefing screens of those game FULLSCREEN. And don't worry, the resolution will not affect the 3D part (gameplay) of the game.

Many thanks! I'll give this a try when I am home later. 😁
