For me, it matters more if the PSU is relatively well constructed and complete. Warning signs like unsafe or absent input filtering, anemic pi filters, four diode treatment for the rectifier, small gauge wiring, etc are all reasons to store it in the recycle. Well maintained garbage is still garbage.
