Back in 2000 I used to buy Gateway laprops from a liquidator in USA and among the lots there were two Kingmax ZV port DVD accelerators .I guess they were remnants from the old Gateway Solo 9100.Those were the happy days on computing !

I had to use a BX motherboard with a Celeron 400, an Cirrus Logic card and a pci to cardbus adapter to run 3dMark99.

The laptops I tried (Compaq Armada 1590, Samsung X10) didn't like the card under Win98 as a primary output, memory range conflicts between the internal card and the cbmlx2.
I used a Dell X300 with a mobile Pentium 1.2GHz for 3dMark2001 the other day.

Did it render correctly, though? And how was the FPS on the first benchmark?

I didn't look at the detailed results, fps was barely better than in 3dmark2001 if I had to guess.
You could see the picture getting drawn on screen from front to back, then the weapon and finishing with the hud.

Also guessing, the Unreal intro flyby probably topped at 10fps.
