Absolutely wonderful.

Read the thread.
Also meh ... turns out my SMD solderpaste has been overstored (afterall naive me was expecting to be long done with this project) ... have to get new one tomorrow first.

This looks amazing. I'd love to see GUS back in production.
I've been trying to go back through the logs; what's the availability of these going to be? is there an estimated cost?
I see my name !! W00t ! Just this makes me happy !! 😜 😜 😜
I'm going to compare both my GUS MAX and the ARGUS !
Two more mockups since I won't be able to solder anything til tomorrow:

Keep in mind ... this could also happen:
-12:35:03- (@Harekiet) hehe well I wonder if it'll detect the thing at the first go or there's magic smoke 😀
I've already found 2 very minor issues so far:
- Removal of the stopmask near the ISA connector goes a teeny-tiny bit back too much, being the potential source of very hard to find/fix corrosion issues in 15-20 years (fixed already for the next run).
- PCB extends roughly a half millimeter too far to the right, leading to issues when screwing the bracket to the gameport (fixed already as well).

So when can we order these things? You might've posted that before and i'm an idiot 😜
It is still a prototype. I don't think he can really give estimates before having a working and fully tested final version of the board.
I know you have your worked cut out for you right now, so just wanted to say thanks for all your effort and please don't feel rushed. On a side note, I'm curious about the cards color. Is the finished mask going to be green, or is that just the sample PCB's? Also, I love the SI on those pads and landings. While I use plain old tin/lead solder (therefore SI has no real advantage for me), I really love the way it looks. If the board were some shade of blue like your early mockups, the SI would really stand out like some sort of artwork, 🤣.

You win 😀
While I expect the digital part to make little to no problems I'm not so confident about the audio amp/mixer part (and still need to figure out the values of the capacitors there).
Expect pictures of the card being detected under DOS "soon", while actual recordings might take longer.
Also, slight change of plans from my side ... once all 3 prototypes (I got 1 overproduction) might be working, I'll send them off to selected people (I'll give you a ring when the time has come) to test if the card actually fully works as intended ... you know, 8 eyes see more than just 2.
About the colors ... the final run will be blue with gold plated pads (additional "hard gold" for the ISA connector) as in the previews. The prototypes are green with chemical tin plating because a different color would have added 60€ to the costs, gold another 120€ - while looking nicer it would have had no benefit and I don't wanna throw your guy's money out of the window 😜 In the production run those extra features will add only very slightly to the price per card since most of those extra costs are setup costs (I estimate something between 2-5€ extra per card ... rather than 90€ as it would have been the case with the protos).
Also vias will be covered with stopmask on the final run (small holes connecting the top and bottom layers _without_ taking any components) unlike in the prototypes ... that was done because of an oversight (causes no problems except for "looks") and because it actually makes debugging potentially easier.
