The test system is the same and represents the best of the best available for socket 462:
Abit AN7 - nforce2 ultra; Kingmax 2*1GB at 2.5-3-3-7 1T command rate; Leadtek geforce 7800gs, WD 150gb raptor. While there are more powerful AGP video cards such as geforce 7950gt I do not have them and already geforce 7800gs is bottlenecked by the CPU.
Software used: chipset driver version 5.10, graphics driver version 93.71, msi afterbuner 4.30, fraps 3.4.7, Everest (old name for what is today known as Aida 64) 5.50.

We go directly to the first benchmark which is Code creatures pro.
1. 1024*768 no AA, no sound:
Thoroughbred will always be first with the default Luna theme
Barton will always be second with the Royale theme

It seems I rushed to put up the results without presenting the screenshots with the systems details first so here they are:
Sempron 2800 - you can clearly see the processor being identified as Thoroughbred

... and Sempron 3000 - which is identified as Barton

2. Back to the benchmarks with Code creature pro again, at the same 1024*768 resolution and no AA but with sound:
- first is Sempron 2800
- second is Sempron 3000

3. We stay at 1024*768 but with AA 4x; no sound first time:

4. Same settings but with sound the second time:

5. We increase the resolution to 1280*1024, AA 4x, NO sound

Barton is not off to a good start! There is a 1 -5% advantage over T-bird, within the margin of error, insufficient to distance itself!
Maybe we get different scores in Aquamark3, the next benchmark!

9. Aquamark3 at default settings - that means no AA, no sound. We are interested in the average frame rate and not the score!

Things are looking pretty grim for the Barton! There is a 3.4 - 6.7% advantage however the difference in PR rating between Sempron 2800 and 3000 is 7.14%! Until now the PR of the 3000 does not seem justified!

15. We arrived at 3dmark and the first version to be tested is the 2000 one. Default settings - that means 16 bit color depth and 16 bit textures at 1024*768 resolution.
