I must stress I am not looking to sell here I am only asking advice on what all these parts are worth as a single lot

Hi all can someone tell me what all the below parts are worth as a single lot I'm hoping to sell them as one lot instead of separating them I know I can sell the motherboards separate but I don't have time, I was thinking/hoping somewhere above $1000 but I'm not sure as I haven't tested the MFM drives or the 486 laptop

I would have to say "no" - just an opinion, take it for what it is worth
Rationale = all this stuff is old, and getting older. I would maybe think that past a certain age it's no longer feasible to keep it running
Why would anyone want to mess with MFM anything, assuming it even still works. Unless someone is a die-hard collector and die-hard on being period specific, what would really do with it (besides stick it in a closet or a museum)

I think the wildcard is going to be those video cards and games.

There are rare and sought after cards that can fetch hundreds of dollars each. Depending on what cards they are and if they are in working condition, those could potentially be worth something.

Rare games can also fetch upwards of hundreds of dollars. Depending on what is there, they could be worth something or possibly not.

Pentium 4 Multi-OS Build
486 DX4-100 with 6 sound cards
486 DX-33 with 5 sound cards

MFM stuff actually sells pretty well, so does the VLB and ISA stuff, these parts being some of the oldest are getting hard to replace and repair so collectors out there are always looking for working parts or parts they can use as spares or donors. They are also in a position to pay well enough for them to make it worth listing them.

XT/286 era stuff also sells well enough to consider throwing it up on Evilbay. The ET4000 VLB card should fetch quite a bit if its in working condition.

Not having time is not good when you want to sell something.

I agree that there are unknowns, like what the video cards are, which you may find something nice. Mice are handy to have for old systems.

I wish I could be more positive about the motherboards. Presence of damage, or mentioning of needing some work, isn't really "working". Did you get some picture of these? You have the most information here. So maybe that would command value when you sell.

From my perspective -- on whether someone would want to score something, or fix and resell? Personally that is alot to go through just to score something. If there aren't many pictures to tell condition or see full inventory, it may make it hard for someone to decide on something that large.

Personally, I would rather buy individual parts that are, on average, a bit more expensive than an entire lot for > $1000. Even if the lot has stuff that could be resold, I'm not interested in buying a lot that would require that much work. $1000 is a lot of money and way more than I'm willing to spend on stuff that I would like to have but is also not guaranteed to work. Even if some parts have some value for certain people, I would personally expect the price of the lot to go down for each additional item that I don't want. That's especially true for stuff like books, as it would feel like I'm paying someone to do their recycling for them.

If you sold them individually it could be 1000$ but if you were to sell them in a lot, 500$ tops, on a good day. You're effectively paying someone else to part it out.

Another thing to consider is how visible your ad would be. I'm assuming that eBay would be out of the question due to the costs of shipping so much stuff. I can't speak for others, but I don't think that sites like Facebook Marketplace work well with large lots. Personally, I will often set a price limit when I search for something on Marketplace. I also set a minimum value because there are too many local sellers that set the price to free or $1 to attract more views. If your lot is outside of my limit for an item I'm looking for, I'm not going to see it. Even if I would be interested in multiple items in your listing and would be fine paying your listed price for them together, I won't see it because I search for individual items and set my price range accordingly.

Also, I often ignore listings for lots because the titles don't look like they would be interesting to me. I don't have time to search through listings titled as "computer lot" or "computers for sale". Scrolling through Marketplace is also very visual, and buyers will often just see the first picture from your ad. If that picture doesn't look interesting or if I can't make out what is in it, I will usually ignore the ad.

Another annoying thing about Marketplace is that it will suggest ads that aren't relevant because it thinks that they are related to what I searched for, even if the ad doesn't contain the same terms. If someone lists a lot that does contain a search term, I could still miss it if I don't see that item in the top of the description. If it's mentioned somewhere near the bottom, I might just assume that Facebook guessed wrong again.

I would say you want every large item, like system unit in it's own listing, then break up parts into smaller lots of related items, ideally that would pack in about shoebox size, but maybe as large as banker box, the shipping gets crazy otherwise.

Otherwise about the only shipping option that covers that large a lot is box it, pile it, and strap it to a pallet and then it's probably $400 dock to dock in US or Canada.

Lot pricing, a lot of 10 items maybe, generally goes for 80% of the lower average sold price (Don't look at for sale BINs for pricing, they remain for sale for years when the price is crazy, look at what's sold and selling) then a lot of 30 items might have that drop down to 60% then 50-100 items you're at 50% and in quantities of "too much", especially unwarranted stuff that needs testing and fiddling with you're down to 25% or less of the total.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Wow thank you guys I was checking for the first two days with no replies so today I checked and 9 replies, CoffeeOne I'm not unwell or dying I hope "I don't have time" wasn't on anyone's mind in that way its just that I live in the country and getting to the local post office is a 2 hour drive there and back so that makes it difficult to post one or two motherboards although my town has a post office it doesn't sell the boxes or bubble wrap so I could buy the packing items in the main town and post items here at home (though our posting days are limited to 3 or 4 days a week) it looks like I'll sell things like the motherboards, MFM HDD's, and higher priced items individually for the most profit then sell the rest in groups, I have time in winter and I have other projects to complete, my main goal is to buy my first trail dirt bike so I can go places my Ute cant there is great country adventures here to explore but I cant because my Ute is not a 4x4 its a Commodore VS slightly lowered and has a hard enough time getting up the driveway in the wet season.

Thank you all for all the good suggestions I have my room at the moment with all the items on the floor in a pile and its getting bigger as I find more things but I'm keeping just enough parts to keep my 486 and 98se PC going I'll never sell it and I'll never give up on dos gaming even though I've looked at my 486 rig once with MT32, SC55, Roland MPU IPC T, hours of making audio cables, automatic KVM switcher box and a custom built PC/MIDI box and thought..... I wonder how much Ide get for this to go towards a dirt bike 😀

I just wanted to say when you don't have time or sell something under time pressure, you almost always get less money.
I am sure you get a lot more when you sell everything separately. But of course that is cumbersome and needs a lot of time 😀
