Huh, 233 you say? Because if I have one other than the 180 that's in my iOpener, that what I thought I had somewhere (last seen 2 moves ago) .. I was underimpressed, a couple or three years prior I was kinda excited for them to "bring it" i.e. more competition, and the marketing speak made it sound like an actual contender. But as I recall, in a 430VX board and a 430FX board it was slower than Cyrix CPUs I had running at 166. Making it the upgrade chip that wasn't. I guess there's a theoretical socket 5 board, with barely the power margin to run 133 P54s that you could cobble it onto and feel like it was an upgrade, but socket 7 was in general way easier to find a faster chip for. So I guess mine didn't even get kept close to hand as "next best" or "I should find this a board of it's own", so I'll probably find it in a nest of
P75s and SX25s or something. ... I still woulda been interested to try out the faster 2Bs, but given a choice I'd probably take a 2.2V MII 366 or a MII 400 to play with over any winchips, even if they are supposedly more common.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
