I treat it as the same since like War1gus it needs the original files to read everything.
in all cases, i hope this project goes forward, War1 needs more love, and if anything a working Windows Port since Blizzard dropped that at the last minute when they released the Retail CD version.
And if anything, use the Redbook audio and the high res assets the mac port has.

I've been following that project's development for a while. It is indeed based on DOS binary decompilation, so it's not "written from scratch" in the same way as engine recreations that are created purely from observation and guesswork. I believe that it is, in fact, so accurate that you can play the original DOS version in network mode against this recreation:

When the author says "completely rewritten from scratch" it means conversion from ASM to C#.
