So I JUST caught this error after a few years.
In my 1997 Socket 7 built, I'm using a PCI card marked as the ATI Rage 2C. The card markings are as follows:
On the PCB itself:
ATI (logo)
PN 109-61800-00
©1999 ATI Technologies Inc
On the BIOS chip: RAGE2C PCI 61801.100 (on a sticker on top of the chip in the socket)
On the actual graphics chip:
ATI 3D (logo)
Rage IIc PCI
215R2PZUA21
B8S75
9942AA
Taiwan
But when I start the computer, the first VGA BIOS message I get says this:
ATI MACH64 BIOS P/N 113-61801-100
And within Windows 95, it has the following
Device Manager lists it as: ATI-264VT3 (English) (DirectX)
Advanced Display Properties:
Manufacturer: ATI Tech. - Enhanced
Chip type: Mach64GT
DAC type: Internal
Features: DirectDraw(tm)
Software version: 5.21-C9N-WEB
If it was just Windows saying it, I'd say I installed the wrong damned driver. Problem is, it's saying the same thing on first BOOT, so maybe someone flashed the wrong BIOS onto this card? If so, how do I correct? Help!
