Hi everyone, first time poster here.
I've got the following issue: when I have both the mouse and the sound card
drivers loaded, the mouse gets stuck after a bit of play time.
I can't control it any more, but it acts like it's getting all kind of strange
inputs. When that happens the keyboard stops responding too.

I've tried several mouse drivers, all found on this forum, but nothing changed.
The sound card is a Sound Blaster Live.
I'm using FreeDOS 1.2 with kernel version 2043.

Thank you for help in advance and congratulations for this wonderful website.

I'm not an expert on SB Live DOS support and how it interacts with other hardware, but I've read multiple times that FreeDOS isn't as compatible with hardware as MS-DOS, and PCI sound card DOS support is tricky even on the real thing.
So I'd recommend trying MS-DOS.
Other things to investigate are different mouse drivers (which are you using?) and playing with the resources assigned to the port your mouse is plugged into in your BIOS, if possible.

Thanks for the answer, Oetker.
On FreeDOS the default mouse driver is CuteMouse.
Then I've tried pmouse and the one by Sigma.
Lastly I've even tried a Microsoft driver I had laying around on a hard drive.

I will try to install MS-DOS instead of FreeDOS, but I'd rather use the latter
because it is Free Software and it has better support for USB sticks.
If I want to try with MS-DOS, I will have to find a way to install it via USB,
since I don't have MS-DOS floppies ready to use and I'm a bit lazy.
