Righte-o, I haven't posted before, but I found this handy-dandy chart of info to give, so let's see how this goes. I've never used DOSBox before, so I may be using it wrong.
1. Errr... Seanix motherboard?
2. Pentium 4, 2.26gh
3. 256 MB ram
4. NVidia GForce4 MX 440
5. SoundMAX Digital Audio
6. Windows XP (service pack 2, of course)
7. Wizardry: Crusaders of the Dark Savant ("CD-ROM edition)
8. It fails to install (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT isn't suitable for running DOS applications)
9. Every time.
10. N/A
11. N/A
12. DOSBox 0.70
13. Downloaded Dosbox, tried mounting my D drive (where I would install from), my C drive (yes, not recommended, I know), and the C folder I want to install to. It made the folder, then gave me an error that I forgot to write down (silly me). I tried again today, and it claimed it was already installed. When I asked to reinstall, it created "PCfile.dbs" and "scenario.hdr" and said it was done. Now, I'm pretty sure neither of those files run the game, so I'm kind of confused what's up. I can't find any other files on my system that could be the game, and it seems fairly clear that's where it's supposed to be. Any help on what might have happened?
Also, a long time ago I tried to get the CD-Rom version of "System Shock" to work under XP, tried everything including DOSBox and still failed, some.... mouse/soundcard port problem? The game installed, and the openning sequence worked; the game only crashed when you started to actually play. Sorry I can't be more specific, my disk is in storage and I don't want to dig it out unless you guys can give me some good news.
