Afternoon folks - hopefully a quick one, purchased a CT4380 AWE64 card off eBay as “PC won’t boot when inserted”. Normally wouldn’t pay much for anything with an unknown issue like this but I could see physical damage to the card in the photos that looked like an easy fix.
Turned out that meant a dead short on the 5v rail and the computer not powering on at all, but numerous trace repairs later, and the removal of a shorted cap, and it lives!
Only issue now is that R101 is still missing - it’s an SMD resistor connected to the top DRAM header J1 - would anyone be so kind as to let me know what value this is, as I can’t find a service manual or high-res board scan (unless I’m missing something in which case sorry!)
Anyone have any experience expanding the RAM on these card, either on-board or where I might find a suitable daughter board? SIMMConn still the best/cheapest bet?
Thanks!
