I have a dead socket 3 motherboard with a ZIF socket (has a lever allowing easy cpu installation and removal).
I also have a Socket 1 Motherboard that I use for testing (manually push cpu for installation, can sometimes bends pins during removal). The board can use 16mhz-50mhz CPUs due to its replaceable oscillator so I use it often to test 486 CPUs.
A ZIF socket will really help, and will be an outstanding upgrade.
In theory this should work if I cut off the extra socket 3 pins. But is there an issue I am not seeing here?
