Hello good people, I stumbled upon a "rare" Abit bf6-2 revision 2.
The previous owner partially recap it but i noticed it has some 4 bulging capacitors behind the ps2 ports, so I'd go for a full recap.
The motherboards use the following caps:
7 10v 1000uf (the one which are bulging)
then near the cpu there are a mix of caps:
11 are 6.3v 1500uf
4 are 6.3v 1000uf.

I thought to go with those as for the 10v:

While for the cpu area I'd go with polymer caps like those which are rated for 6.3v 1200uf:
https://www.tme.eu/it/en/details/a750ks128m0j … pacitors/kemet/

I'm puzzled about the kemet because they are rated just for 2000h.

There are those which are 1000uf only but rated for 5000h:
https://www.tme.eu/en/details/a755ks108m0jaae … rici-tht/kemet/

The alternative would be to go with nichicon:
https://www.tme.eu/en/details/upw0j102mpd/tht … itors/nichicon/

Or panasonic?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Moreover, all 21 pc are the same

A modern cheap polymer capacitor is better than an electrolytic one, which was developed 25 years ago.
With the loads that exist on 440BX motherboards, any polymer will last forever

Ok so I can use those even for the one rated for v10?

I did the whole CPU section of my BE6-II with 820uF polys and it has been rock stable with a P3 1000B (SL5DV) and a GF4 Ti4200. Proper 133FSB operation with no crashes.

yeah
There were still 3 years left before the ATX12V connector appeared.
On 440BX motherboards, everything is powered by 3.3 or 5V.
A 6.3V polymer capacitor is sufficient for a 5V rail.

For a 30-watt load, 3 high-quality capacitors 560 μF at 4V are enough
With 10+ parallel capacitors, it is easier and more reliable to use general-use polymer capacitors from any manufacturer.
1000uF - a universal capacitance for all cases.
Not much, but not little either.

The ones I have are rated 2.5v, Fujitsu and IIRC Nichicon.
