Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I am looking for information on this sound card of mine. Particularly its capabilities.

I can see an OPL chip but but I'm not sure about the rest of it. Looks like an IDE header?

Was pulled from a working Samsung Magic Station III SPC-8260P.

this card uses the OPTI 82C924 chipset that gives adlib/sb/sbpro/wss support and it has a real yamaha opl3
there is also the Dream SAM9203 wavetable synth on it with 1MB rom and ofcourse a CD-ROM interface (probably IDE)
there is a new Opti 924 driver here: Brand New Drivers for OPTI 82C929 and 82C924 including StereoFix , perhaps it will work better than the original one

Thank you!

Wow sounds like it's got quite a bit of support on it. Just missing GUS and Roland Intelligent support.

Am I correctly assuming the SB will handle the Roland UART?

Thanks for the help.

There's room for two CD-ROM connectors: IDE, and Panasonic proprietary.
Only the latter is soldered in.

Yes, you can use Opti drivers.
For DOS, you can also use UNISOUND.

I stand corrected, like Grzyb mentions the interface is panasonic so not that useful
if everything works as it should then you should have midi in/out via gameport but keep in mind that the onboard dream wavetable will probably play at the same time as external midi

Might be a mixer channel which can mute the onboard WT.

Chances are wt is the same as opl - in some midi/music slider
Ofcourse you can mute in mixer but the game has to respect that and not change stuff - and history shows games do not respect such stuff 🤣
In any case Noise_unit will have to test things - perhaps onboard wt is tied to another input

I will definitely test everything to my ability. Waiting on a 31khz monitor to arrive and see if there are any errors in the OS first.

Chances are there will be a Korean version of Win3.1 and or 95, possibly DOS. So I'll have to navigate that 😁

If the software doesn't respect the muting of the WT then this might not be a good candidate for future MT-32 support.
