Yeah I seem to be having some problems with this that are getting worse not better.
I cant seem to install WinME now without it crashing out with IFSMGR errors...
The drivers for the onboard sound do nothing but crash Win98, and I havent been able to make a stable install of ME with them so far either.
So far on this try. Ive turned off all none used devices, IDE1 (only have 1 HDD on Chan0), no Serial or Parallel, no Audio, LAN or Firewire.
CPU set as a 3200+ using 200FSB. The RAM is set to 200 and it set by SPD.
Messing about with any of the CPU RAM settings didnt seem to make any difference the last set of attempts I made, Memtest86 always passes and it made no difference to the errors WinME was throwing up.
But this time around with everything disabled Ive managed to get WIn98 installed again and its stable enough, Ive managed to install some software, Nero 6, which is a big install that tests RAM and HDD use. It also just managed to defrag the HDD, which is also something it fails on when the audio drivers are installed.
The only change I will make now it turn on the onboard audio and install the drivers and see if its still stable.
