Awesome!👍
On what page did this change to any hardware instead of period correct hardware?
Today I slotted a "new" Quadro FX 4500 in Super G5 and did some benchmarking with Quake 3, Quake 4, Doom 3, UT2004, and Prey.
Here's the Doom 3 result. Keep in mind that, unlike the PC version, Doom3 for Mac only uses a single core. Plus, it's one of the worst ports ever. Aspyr didn't even *try* to optimize this game for PowerPC. To get an idea of just how sloppy it is, consider this: Quake 4 actually runs at a higher frame rate on this machine!
PowerMac G5 Quad: 2x dual-core PowerPC 970MPs at 2.5GHz, 16 GB DDR2-533, Quadro FX 4500 PCIe, OS X 10.5.8
1024x768 Ultra:
The G5 is nearly three times faster than the G4, which at 1.5GHz w/ a 7800GS AGP, only manages 27 fps!

Built a new living room PC but it temporarily has my old 1080ti in it for now.
Anything goes toplist

Hello,
Want to add stats for a single module trinity APU, usinng integrated Terascale 3 graphics:
AMD A6-5400K APU, Gigabyte F2-A55M-HD2, 4GB 2 x2GB GSKILL 2133 DDR3 F31700CL9D-4GBXL CL9-11-9-26 1.6V. SO: Windows XP SP3.

CPU@4,4GHz, GPU@1024MHz, XMP 2133 DDR3 speed: 83,2FPS
It's nice to see more results added.
I have not given up on this project and the new results will be added to the list sooner or later but not in this instant as I'm on a low res screen.
New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.
Older PC: K6-3+ 400@600MHz, PC-Chips M577, 256MB SDRAM, AWE64, Voodoo Banshee.
Perfect score 😁

Hahaha, indeed, the perfect score for Doom 😀
Will try to contribute to this thread sometime soon.

I have read this thread and I could not found a clear answer to the question: Doom 3 requires SSE or not?
I have a system with Thunderbird 1400C and will not run Doom 3; however if I replace the CPU with the XP 1500 the game will run! So it would appear that Doom 3 needs SSE.
However Phil in Intel vs AMD S2E3 clearly has Doom 3 running on the 1400C with no problems and even has results with various video cards!
How is this even possible?

Doesn't. it's quake4 that requires SSE (and will politely break if it doesn't find the extension)
Though I have not played Doom3 on a SSE-less machine after it had some patches... but around release it didn't require SSE.
I have Doom 3 and RoE installed with the latest 1.31 patch. The game will not start with an Athlon 1400C. I should mention that when you install RoE it will automatically update the game to version 1.2.
From that moment the game will NO longer run on the T-bird 1400.
Tested by me a few minutes ago on the following system:
Athlon 1400C, 2x1gb ram, Abit AN7, geforce 7600GT, WD 150GB.
What is odd for a game that does not require SSE is the Athlon XP 1500 mentioned in the MSR file.
Unfortunately I dont have any functioning retro builds at the minute. However, I was curious, do any of the doom 3 source ports work on retro hardware and older OS's? I wonder how they perform vs the original engine...
I don't know about hardware but here is OS:

Could you explain how to do this? I found the attribute subsystem in CFF Explorer but I can't change it to 4 only 1,2,3,5,... .
I strugle too to get doom3 working on my XP Machine, I tried loading the source port version from fhdoom and dhewm3 from the vogonsorg github page, replaced the exe file with the one from the release section, tried to modify exe in CFF Explorer but nothing seems to work. I use the pk4 files from my steam installation off doom3 if this makes any difference.
For MajorOperatingSystem and MajorSubsystem change the values to 004. For accuracy for XP you can change Major to 5 and minor to 1 for XP but I prefer to not having to constantly modify files for different Windows versions if I don't have to.
Only dhewm3 v1.5.1pre and fhDoom 1.5.2-1414 and earlier will work on vanilla XP.
You can probably just run PatchPE instead but I've never bothered with it, a lot of times these tools only run on newer versions of Windows.

Just FYI, with dhewm 1.5.0 you don't need to change anything, since that version still have PE headers set to 5.1, which is Windows XP.
