I have a 286 motherboard with SIPP memory as well as normal chips. Since I have no SIPP memory, I wanted to install chip RAM. I cam up with what's in the attached picture but the board doesn't POST. Any ideas? Do I also need to provide smaller ram chips?

Cheers

You will probably need the parity chips (the small sockets) populated, if not the complete bank filled.
Should be 256K x1 while the bigger ones are 256K x4.

Another solution If RAM chips installing/configuration is still failing:

The signals at the pins of the SIPP RAM module match those at the contact pads of the SIMM RAM module. So you can turn any SIMM memory stick into SIPP memory stick simply by soldering pins to its contact pads.

I found some SIPP modules and the board didn't work with them either. So I think it's pretty much toast and needs to be repaired.
