Hello guys, I would like to ask if I can put without a risk Intel 80386DX with 25MHz, which I saved with other stuff from malfunctioning Joindata Systems Inc. G386SYM, into very rare socketed version of Octek Jaguar C-V motherboard, where should go 40MHz processor. Thanks.

Huh, I was going to say it could work if the board had a PLL so you could set the clock.
But looking at the board picture you've attached, your board has a 66MHz clock crystal and no PLL. Meaning that the CPU is already set for 33MHz operation and can't be easily changed, a 25MHz 386DX should do 33MHz probably? So it should be safe to try as-is 😀

Looks like some corrosion needs cleaning around the clock battery area and that original NiCD / NiMH clock battery should be removed.
Be careful of the pin1 orientation since the CPU is not keyed.

Hi Thermalwrong,

thanks for these information. So I was wrong when I thought that this board is for 40MHz 386. According your info it is for 33MHz 386 with option to set it up to 66MHz with turbo ON? Roger that, so if there is no PLL chip, the frequency is fixed.

Yes, I will be careful with the corrosion and CPU orientation.
