The memory modules on my Geforce4 ti4800SE are damaged.

Please help me find replacements from a supplier that ships internationally. (I usually use Aliexpress but can’t find them there this time)

Part number:

Samsung K4D261638E-TC36

Alternatives are welcome but performance should be equivalent or better.

Look for tc33 and tc2a.

They're faster.
Exceptionally rare to have problems running a faster part slower.

Or if you replace them all, you can probably clock the cards memory higher

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install

look for cheap donor boards with the same memory, like quadro fx500, radeon 9000 MAC edition, etc.

That would be great if I could actually find the modules.

The card has 4 modules on each side for a total of 128MB.

The damaged modules were located on the rear of the card so I've removed all modules from that side. (Heatsinks were glued on and somebody ripped them off which took off two of the modules and ripped some pads. Fortunately no other visible damage)

Should the card work with only the front modules attached. (So only the front modules providing 64MB)

I tested the card in a PC and it POSTS but there are artefacts all over the screen. Is that expected?

It's impressive that it posts.

Text mode works normally?

No, the artefacts are present continuously from the moment that something appears on the display.

Can't hurt to wash it and inspect again. If the ram came off, it's a fair bet other things got damaged

It is expected that the card does artifact with only half the memory modules attached. The memory filling is not necessarily linear. Often you have two memory channels (2x64Bit), which are housing 4 chips (4x16Bit = 64Bit). If you remove the four chip on the back, you have effectively removed 32bit of memory per channel.

You can do an inquiry at Ovaga, I've sourced many components so far from them.

Don't be fooled by the QTY on their page. It's just for SEO. But if you do an inquiry, they'll mail you back and you can ask them if any

K4D261638E-TC33
K4D261638E-TC36
K4D261638E-TC33

are available. They are very helpful and fast on such requests.

If you want a donor card that has those memory modules guaranteed: The Medion / MSI Radeon 9600TX has K4D261638E-TC36 on it. 8 Pieces. It's effectively a Radeon 9500 Pro with 128Bit Bus.
They go for around 30€ on ebay germany. Probably cheaper than getting new modules via ovaga.

Cheers!

I’ve inspected the card under my microscope and there is no other damage visible.

Today I soldered some wires to the ripped pads where one module needs to mount on the rear. Hopefully I will manage to solder the module.

I found modules to buy and hopefully they will work: K4D261638F-TC33.
