Here is a onedrive link to the stuff

https://1drv.ms/f/c/b8c79c7b63196774/EtEat31d … 6HMQ_w?e=hyBUol

Quake3 installation
Installation:
Just drag and drop the files in your quake3 folder.
If the game for some reason decides not to start. Try another config file. Remember, if you try this, also delete the q3config.cfg file in your baseq3 folder. The autoexec file writes it info to the q3config file.
The default autoexec config file is the fastest.
This patch is also modular. You can choose if you want compressed textures or sounds.
In the Baseq3 folder and you will find different pak . You will find the following files:
pak9 - map animations This file turns of all the moving stuff on the maps.
pak9 - sounds This file includes low quality faster sounds.
pak9 - texures This file includes compressed faster textures.
pak9 - GFX This file includes compressed explosion effects etc.
If you dont want compressed textures or sounds, or any of the stuff, just remove the pak files you want.
This Patch also includes G3Virus User exe with SMP support ,and "low Quality Audio" support. Different speed configs are also included.

Quake2 installation:
Just drag and drop the files in your quake2 folder.
pak7.pak is optional. It is a low res texture pack that gives a tiny fps boost on low end machines with 4mb graphics cards
You can turn of the games textures with this variable in the autoexec.cfg file
set gl_hack_notextures "1" \\means no textures
set gl_hack_notextures "0" \\ textures on
The sound has been set to 8khz. This is a feature that cant be choosed in the menu. Less khz means more FPS
set s_khz "8"
22khz is high quality

Unreal Tournament installation:
First make a backup of your OpenGLDrv.dll that resides in the
system folder of your unreal tournament game.

Then copy the System folder to your unreal tournament folder

Start the game, choose the options menu, then, preferences, followed by
the video section.

Click on the "change" button on the video driver option.
The game restarts, a window that is called "Unreal Tournament Video Configuration" opens,
and you can change your video driver.
Press the "show all devices" button and choose OpenGL

The game restarts. You are now ready to go!

You can change a lot of settings and gain more performance or fidelity
in a hidden menu, or the unrealtournament.ini file that you will find in the system folder.

To gain acces to the hidden menu you need to do the following.
Start the game. Press the "Tools" button, followed by system console.
A window with a black background will open. Type "preferences" and the hidden menu will open.

You can change a lot of stuff here, and even brake the game.
So be careful. If you brake the game. Delete the unrealtournament.ini file in the system folder,
the game will create a new default file.

Anyway. There is video section and a renderer section with a lot of settings that you can change.
I would recomend that you read the included UTGLR Settings.html file for more info.

Re: New MVP4 build

I’ve been able to get some decent results using mvp4 lately! 😀

Anyone else have one?

I would like to try to get my nvs280, or gf2 mx400 working on it.

But as always, can’t quite seem to get those working right. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Probably this is a silly question and the answer is :”why you did that??”.

But I set up a ss7 system with a reworked Soltek motherboard (tested) and a delidded k6-2+ @ III+.
The motherboard was capable of booting into windows at 133mhz so I asked my friend to recap it.

Installed XP and run legacy update program…
Guess it was a mystake because yes the OS now is updated but any Nvidia gpu I install gives me bluescreen with nv4_disp error (with any driver). With FSB at 100Mhz of course.

Radeon is out of question because of the overclocked agp port.
Am I right?
Should I reinstall everything and keep at SP2 the OS?
If so, which necessary updates should I install (I mean updates that are needed for drivers and/or DirectX proper functionality.

Thanks

Maybe a radeon 9800 pro might be able to handle that agp port?

Ati cards are known to be unstable with agp over 66mhz.

The Medion R9600 TX is an exception. PCI was at 53MHz during tuning, AGP was also very high. The 9800Pro really couldn't handle this.

Never heard of a 9600 capable of 3.3v

Anyway, I am still kindly asking for an answer.

Sure, but if you look closely, this is not XT but TX, it also works in SS7 alongside K6x.

Is it a rebadged 9500 or a real 9600?
It is not clear to me.

The 9600TX is a Radeon 9500 Pro by MSI.

The attachment Screenshot from 2025-06-03 12-54-01.png is no longer available

It has an R300 core under the covers and uses an MSI custom PCB layout.

It was sold with Medion Computers, they re-badged it 9600TX because, well, bigger number better.

Cheers.

Hybrid manufactured by Medion. You can see from the two notches that it can run in 2x/4x/8x AGP.

Oh ok.
I have already a 9500 pro L shaped memory.

My problems won’t be solved by this one.

Wasn’t the 9500 basically a 9700?

Would any of the 9700 work?

Yes.

But again the agp frequency out of spec is not ok with ATI.
See 440bx behaviour.
Anyway, I see the same symptoms using a PCI card, so probably I really messed up the OS with all unwanted updates.

Will install 98SE an try again.
