Hi folks, I'm new to the retro PC space and recently built myself a Pentium 4 build for win98, using an X600 XT. It runs everything into the early mid XP era admirably, but I want to see if I can squeeze just a bit more out of this GPU for those very last games that can run on 98, maybe an a modest OC of an extra 25-50 mhz?

I'm using the beta Catalyst 6.2 driver for 9x from PhilsComputerLab, but Rivatuner doesn't seem to detect the driver, I presume cause it's unofficial?, and of course ATI Tool doesn't run on 98.

Is there any alternatives for OCing on 98SE?
How would I go about doing this?

Try some non-latest version, maybe it will run.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention.

And Ray Adams himself wrote on forums in those years that there were problems with Windows 98 and he would not provide support.

Then yes, download the BIOS, modify, reflash

A modest OC usually doesnt help much. Take your p4 as 1st system and it's time to have another one for full windows xp coverage in 1920x1080. Late socket 775 or am2+ with pcie work here.

Overclocking memory on X600XT gives a nice performance boost.
