Hi everyone,

Anyone have this soundcard ? i didn't found this exact model (with good quality) on web, there are some variants very different from this..
I will try to repair, at first look there are missing crystals and capacitors

X3 - 24.576

You need 16.000MHz for the CS9233 and 16.9344MHz + 24.576MHz for the CS4248. The small capacitors can all be 10µF and sound will come out fine (original likely had a number of 1µF ones but that is only gonna limit low freq response). The two larger ones near outputs should be as high value you can physicall fit since that determines the low freq response, 220µF and higher is the ballpark there.

It is probably 12, 16, or 24MHz, like seen on Creative cards and many other clones.

EDIT: it is definitely a 12MHz ceramic resonator that is supposed to go there.

there is a high res pic here: https://allegro.pl/oferta/isa-crystal-cs4231a … oxz-17487770525
but I have found no easy way to save it ... it does show that X2 is 12mhz though

in firefox 140,
click on the lock icon left of the URL in the address bar, then
click on 'connection secure', then
click on 'more information', then
click on 'media', then
sort by size,
select the biggest image in this case and click on 'save as' to save a local copy.

Or right click and select 'copy' to get the link

Well... need to do few visual checks and to confirm there aren't short circuits

Let's see if work, doesn't work or smoke everything

You may have to change the capacitors near the 12MHz crystal. Original was a ceramic resonator and those often use much higher value capacitors there which will make an actual crystal you use unable to start oscillation. If the card appears not to work, this may be the cause. Exact value depends on particular crystal used but the general range is between 10 and 33pF. Nice work though ~

found smd broken cap shorting, but don't seem to be critical at moment (removed cap)

well... the card don't work..

Voltage Regulator, in: 12v out 5v

3 crystals look oscilating normally, X3 24.576mhz does not work, even after replace

the 24.576MHz is only used for 48kHz based sample rates and I thinkit only comes to life when such a sample rate is being wanted to be played.

The ISA pins look full of corrosion dots, it is worth to shine them up also. Rest of the card looks like nothing is broken, at loast on the top side... Perhaps there's also a loose pin on the CompuMedia QFP, needle test (skating one across all the pins) will reveal all such pins quite easily.
