One more thing I am looking to add a wave table daughter board to the Labway card... I have been looking at the DB50XG (or the 51 if I can't make a 26 pin setback spacer). I did come across that DreamBlaster x16GS. Any opinions or experience with any of these wavetables?
Dreamblaster X2GS is also a good option for SC-55 like sound. X16GS will have the same roland samples. The Buran sound font is nice.
Im not sure there is a gaming use case for the X16 larger memory.
If you ever think you want to have mt32 there are wavetable versions of the mt32-pi. Mt32-pi also supports fluidsynth for loading sound fonts.
For my 486 build a run a ALS007 with the X2GS and a picogus 2.0 with a mt32-pi wavetable. The pico goes into the line in of the ALS.

Thank you for that I didnt realize there was a X2GS Im going to look at that. I did see someone replicated the Yamaha XG samples but at the point of having the Roland samples I probably wouldnt need it. I did see someone used a pi in making a wavetable but I wasnt sure what it was so that answers that question.
