So i re-installed following the above suggestion to a T. This time it ran just as before (choppy and slow) and cut off at the Identical point as both previous versions of the install.
I mounted my C and D drives (which are the correct names and not substituted by other letters) just as in the 60 second guide. I did the install (from the second disc) by going through the path to the file which was
c:\id\t7g\install.
There were two significant changes from the previous DOSbox attempt, which was mounted in a different spot at the time. One being that the sound had returned to the start menu, and two being the error i received upon crashing (note it is at the identical spot in every instance of running the game, DOSbox or not, Just as the game is about to start from the opening movie). The new Error read as such
"Error : GJD File System Error -- Aborting"
Sound and music were all configured within the install generically with the soundblaster 2 settings that are recommended during the install.
I had a previous problem while adjusting to DOSbox itself, and received an Error that said "Mscdex Not installed", which was fixed with
" mount d "D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl" "
This was a previous mount though, and i would assume would not be affecting the mount that i have currently done (which is identical to the one in the 60 Seconds Guide to DOSbox).
Thanks for any input you all may have!
EDIT:
Forgot something big in my haste... There was an error, after pulling up the start menu, that involved me having to put the second disc back into my drive after attempting to start my game. The second disc is the install disc and i was under the assumption that the game would not run without the first disc in the drive (and the iso is not mounted virtually, but i am able to do so). After selecting New Game it then promted me to insert the second disc again, played through the normal movie and crashed in the same spot as usual.
