Could you upload the Altec Lansing AMC2000 DOS drivers here?
I've seen W95 drives for SB-DM155, guess you have found them already.
Anyways I attach them here as well

Here is the Altec Lansing AMC2000 disk image... had to skip a few unreadable sectors but it should make a valid disk as it is at the very end of the disk and I can copy all the files off sucessfully:

The attachment Altec_Lansing_AMC2000_disk_image.zip is no longer available

And the files copied off the disk:

The attachment Altec_Lansing_AMC_2000_disk_files.zip is no longer available
The attachment Altec_Lansing_AMC2000_disk_1080.jpg is no longer available

I haven't scanned the manual yet. Once I get that done, I will upload to vogonsdrivers.

I know quite a bit of time has passed, but I hope I can still find some information.
My Altec Lansing AMC-2000 shows an error related to the DSP Solutions CD-ROM. I’ve tried different versions of Windows 95 and 98, but I keep running into the same issue with the CD-ROM driver. Do you happen to know what I might be missing?

The attachment cd-rom-drivers-error.jpg is no longer available

Did you try it in pure DOS? Should work there too. If it doesn't maybe the drive itself is bad.

Yes, it works in pure DOS. I am just trying to understand how to make it work in Windows.

Hey REDLED, does the card work for you in any natively supported games? It’s supposed to output digital sound in some DOS games, like HOMM2, Abuse, GTA, Apache…

I haven't been able to test the card properly yet because the 486 notebook needs to be reinstalled. But I know that the card works basically.

Looks like that it's a clone of Computer Technica Inc. JSC-1 card.
The drivers are for W9x., but they include also DOS enablers. As for MIDI support - there is a switch in one of the enablers for MIDI base address and IRQ, but I'm not sure if it works in DOS.

@Bondi Any chance you still have JY-PCM?
I recently bought one, it was sold as parts.
When I plugged it the adapter to PCMCIA slot, Windows 95 did not automatically detect any new device.
Just wondering if my JY-PCM is defective

Hey there,
I never owned this card unfortunately. Did you try to install it manually, Control Panel -> Install new hardware?
Does it have DOS drivers?

I tested to install new hardware from control panel and still not working.
Also. It seems no power passed to the gamepad.
There is no dos driver.

According to the specifications it does not support plug and play and seems fixed to address 201. So you will likely have to install the standard microsoft joystick driver at address 201 manually using the 'select driver from a list' function in the add new hardware wizard.

Hi, by some random chance, I received this exact JY-PCM3 card in the mail today as part of a lot. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop with me to test it right now, and I'm not very familiar with PCMCIA cards in general.

However, the package I received today did include the manual for the card. It's in Japanese which I can translate.

The installation instructions for Windows 95 say to first see what PCMCIA mode Windows is in. Do this by going to Control Panel -> System -> System Properties -> Performance. Under "PC Card (PCMCIA)" does it list "32-bit" or "MS-DOS Compatibility Mode"? If it lists "32-bit", then the card should work plug-and-play style, meaning you should be able to plug it in when Windows is running and you should get the New Hardware popup. In that case, you want to choose the driver, and to do that, choose Sound, Video, or Game Controller -> Microsoft -> Game Port Joystick.

The instructions are more complicated if the PCMCIA mode of Windows is in MS-DOS Compatibility Mode, which is not plug-and-play. If that's the case, let me know and I can try to summarize, but very basically, it seems like you first have to install the DOS drivers via the supplied floppy disk in Windows 95 MS-DOS mode and then manually add the hardware in Windows 95.

Also, as said above, the I/O port is confirmed as 0201 in the manual.

Couple updates:
1. I can manually install the standard microsoft joystick driver at address 201
2. Control Panel -> System -> System Properties -> Performance. Under "PC Card (PCMCIA)" lists "32-bit", though there was no New Hardware popup. when I plugged in the card.

The issue is when a gamepad is connected to the gameport, it still shows "Not Connected" in Windows 95.

Btw, I have Sanwa JY-PCM instead of JY-PCM3 (I am not sure if the same), I will try the driver from @Bondi later.

Reviving this old post here.
Can you tell me if the Indigo PCMCIA card has dos/win9x support?
I'm trying to play some old dos-based games on a windows 98 machine, and I am looking for a PCMCIA solution to have full sound support on games like Heretic, Hexen, Doom and so on...

Echo Indigo is a Cardbus card that has only Win ME and up support.
For Win9x I'd recommend to look for a card that has decent SB support for DOS games in Windows. A Wavjammer, or one of the ESS based cards, yet none of them is perfect. Or if you plan to play windows versions of those games, that support WSS, then almost any card will do a decent job. You can check the link in my signature to see all the features of different cards.
For pure DOS I'd go for this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-04EoGlayY
You still can reserve one. I wouldn't wait much as the quantity is limited.

Ah you are right. In the meanwhile I also did some additional research and ended up getting the info that there are no drivers for older OSes than WinME.
I'd boot on win98 and play dos-based games through there, as long as I would have a decent sb emulation in place. Unfortunately this seems to be way more difficult to achieve as the laptop has no decent onboard sound chip (ac97 crap, but sb emulation doesn't work properly) , and it's limited to an open PCMCIA slot, where i could stick a PCMCIA card in. I've been trying to get my hands on an old compatible one, but it seems to be impossible to find one as these were already super rare at the very beginning.
I might as well get an old full-98-compatible laptop instead and use that one instead of a newer one, considering this one specific card you linked costs 160$ + shipping + import taxes.

I appreciate your reply to my question.

@TheRoss a bit off-topic, but have you tried SBEMU or VSBHDA?

Those utilities should provide decent Sound Blaster emulation for integrated AC'97 sound devices in DOS, for both real mode and protected mode games.

If that works, you won't even need a PCMCIA or CardBus sound card to get sound in DOS games on that laptop.
