Hi there,
I can't make any progress getting this game running on my retro-pc. I don't know what causes the issue. I never came across such a weird glitch. The game though is very nice. Nicely drawn detaild pixel art. Sound, music and gameplay is quite good. The graphics stand out by fare. The game has two versions, one is for Win3x the other one is for Win9x. I tested both on the same machine with windows 3.11 and windows 95. The issue is exactly the same.
If I start the game the gfx get stuck after 1-2 seconds. If I move the window of the game, the game runs another 1-2 seconds in the animation and stucks again. On fullscreen it stucks after 1-2 seconds but because I cannot move the game-window it stays stucked. I have changed the graphics-drivers, the resolutions the bitdephs, the direct version (on Win9x). I have tried several versions, several cracked versions and even the full install version, I can't fix it.
I am pretty sure that the answer lies in wing.dll or wing32.dll or something related to that because changing the direct-version and even deinstalling it, did not make any difference. Is it due to my setup itself ? I used the gfx and directX-drivers from microsoft for the onboard ET4000w32p but even using the latest Tseng driver from 12/1995 does not fix the issue. This driver is even worse because it seems to break direct draw hardware acceleration in DX1/2.
Any idea what I should check next?
Thx Doc
