What a game changer of a card. Would love to see some GF3’s in action or your collection.

I have a somewhat uncommon Gainward GeForce 3 Ti550 "Golden Sample".
I got it second hand in 2003 or so. Had it paired with an AthlonXP 1700+ and played a bunch of games on it, including the original Splinter Cell. I didn't even know that game needed a GeForce 3/4/FX to look best at that time, but I was certainly impressed with the graphics. The stock cooler was super noisy, so I replaced it with a Deepcool V50 several years ago.
Nowadays, this card is sitting in storage because of artifacting. Maybe some of the memory modules gave up the ghost, not really sure, and I'm too lazy to check right now. Might try to fix it up someday, but it's a very low priority, as I don't really have a use case for it.
it should've been the radeon 7200 dammit

long live PCem
FUCK "AI"
Never owned one when released, we had a TNT2 M64 in the family PC.
When I bought my first computer, it had a second hand Radeon 9500.
For me R300 cards and GeForce3 are sure milestones. I have a Leadtek WinFast Ti200 which can reach Ti500 speeds, but also an Asus V8200T5 Deluxe. The GeForce3 'vanilla' seems quite rare, haven't seen one yet.
i386 16 ⇒ i486 DX4 100 ⇒ Pentium MMX 200 ⇒ Athlon Pluto 700 ⇒ AthlonXP 1700+ ⇒ Opteron 165 ⇒ Dual Opteron 856
Works great 😀
Aside from Half Life 2 water shader being... uncooperative 😁
I got my Geforce 3 Ti 200 a few months ago amongst a job lot of untested cards. I haven't used it in a build yet, but I did check that it works.
I wish I would have snagged more of the GeForce 1-3 cards on eBay when they were worthless. I have a GF3 Ti 200 which is 128MB but slowest of the series. Kind of funny what cool graphics you could get with as little as 64MB VRAM back then.
The original XBOX is a GF3 derivative.

Oh, I still have a Medion Ti 200 in my P3 rig.
Came as a passive card, but had solder points for a fan header, so I put in two pins, just to make sure it stays cool and continues to run for many more years.
Can't quite hit Ti 500 speeds, but 230 chip and 235 MHz/470 DDR are stable.
No need to run anything beyond stock though, as it's horribly held back in the system, but that just means I can pump all that performance into eye candy. (Even though I prefer how Unreal looks in 640x480 on the CRT)
