I'm trying to run the program stunts in Dosbox on a windows xp system. I can run it in windows itself, but I'dd like to run it in Dosbox so I can capture videos. However, the program doesn't start in dosbox. The setup does start, but when it's closed down it says "ERROR: setup.dat - file could not be created." There's nothing wrong with setup.dat, it has the same contents as it has with other people, and I can run the setup in windows without any errors. I've reinstalled Dosbox and even got the newest version, but the problem persists. Other programs do open in dosbox. It's not the fault of stunts either, I reinstalled that too. So apparently, my windows system doesn't grant certain right to Dosbox or something. When I open the properties of the containing folder, or any folder on my computer really, it tells me it's read-only, something which I should be able to switch off, but when opening the properties again, it says it's read only, again. The files themselves are however not read-only. I've tried making Dosbox an exeption in all sorts of protection programs, and turning of the "resident shield", but it's no solution. So my question really is: What the helpdesk is windows doing to prevent me from calling on this program? Some sort of protection against a program calling on another file or program when ran in a 3rd program (dosbox)? Anyone has an idea? I know I'm out of them. Any help therefor is appreciated.
