Hello!
I have a problem with Z.A.R. game.
The game needs a CD check to run, which can't be successful through DosBox!

Here's my [autoexec] part of DosBox configuration file.

mount c: F:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 mount d: C:\Games\ZAR d: zar.exe […]
Show full quote

mount c: F:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0
mount d: C:\Games\ZAR
d:
zar.exe

Am I doing smth wrong, or is it a common problem?
Read several forums, found similar questions but no answers.
Hopefully, I'll get some answers here.

in DOS,
C is your normal drive and D your cdrom.
not the other way around.

Mount the games folder and not the zar folder and cd to that.

Also please use an image uploader that doesn't switch to porn sites.

Did successfully reinstall the game using DosBox from CD.
Changed configuration file:

mount d: F:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 mount c: C:\Games c: cd zar zar.exe […]
Show full quote

mount d: F:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0
mount c: C:\Games
c:
cd zar
zar.exe

Still have the same problem.

What's your DosBox version?
Could you post your exact steps to launch the game?

Z:>mount d j:\ -t cdrom
Z:>d:
D:>install.bat
C:\ZAR>go.bat

Later:
Z:>mount c e:\dosbox -freesize 500
Z:>mount d j:\ -t cdrom
Z:>c:
C:>cd zar
C:\ZAR>go

I've found the other way! 😊
Just downloaded Z.A.R. with DirectX patch to run on Win7.

Thanks for trying to help me!
