Hi all,

I'm running Mac OS 10.6.8 with Dosbox 0.74

I got Quest for Glory 4 installed and I even installed all the Sierra patches.

None of the keys on my keyboard work except the return key and 'option+return' to go to full screen and back.

I'm pretty sure my keys are mapped wrong. When I type keyb in dosbox, it says "codepage 437 has been loaded".

Dosbox seems to be loading my mapper file from
/Users/mangomonster/Library/Preferences/mapper-0.74.map

So I imagine that's where the problem is... but I can't seem to find any good info on this after googling for an hour. Can anyone help me?

Remove the mapper file and try. What language is your keyboard for and is it the apple one?

Didn't seem to help. It's set as US English. I'm using the buit in keyboard on my Macbook Pro. I've tried the keymapper in Dosbox and it doesn't seem to help.

Sigh... I'm NOT talking about the layout that is set on OSX, I'm talking about the actual hardware layout.
Anyway, when you launch dosbox, do the keys work and they just don't work in the game?

I figured that's what you meant after I sent that last message, 🤣.

Correct, the keys work fine in DOS. It's only when using the game that everything goes haywire...

The the game is more likely busted and not a problem of dosbox itself.

Nope, just installed the QFG4 CD-rom version and I still have the same problem. Enter works.. but all the other keys don't work right in the program. Same problem I had with the Disk version of the game. I've even tried running the programs through Boxer and it's the same.... =/

Are you talking about the DOSBox 0.74 Preferences file under my username/library/preferences folder? If so, I changed it there from =true to =false and still no change

I did a fresh install of Dosbox AND QFG4, this time the CD-Rom version on my Hackintosh running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and same problem... completely different computer, however it's running the same OS version.
