What does the i960 do on that board?
its technically a high-speed microcontroller. in this case it adds 4 pci slots. ^.^ the i960 was the first ever pci-pci bridge chip. They were ALWAYS on multi-channel scsi raid cards, as they were EXCELLENT in making the ECC calculations that x86 cpus choked on.

Not exactly retro yet but got a Toshiba portege m400 for $27 today and it posts.

The P6DGH is a monster board, and you got a great deal IMHO, particularly considering that it was NIB. Definitely one of the most badass AT mainboards ever created. What makes it particularly interesting is that it has two SIMM slots for up to 64MB of cache RAM for its I2O subsystem, though I could never figure out how to get it all working in WinNT. I think it requires special drivers.
I've been running one with a pair of 600MHz P-III chips and 2GB of ECC RAM in a SC-750 enclosure and it's a beast. Just pay close attention to the jumpers when you're configuring it, because it has more than the typical array of settings and the extra PCI bus can chew up some system resources that you might prefer to reserve for other devices.
I got a good deal on a full length Hercules Monochrome card with printer port in the original box.

OEM's sold those AGP V3 3K's in droves, so they aren't that particularly hard to find. That price is in line with what they go for on ebay. If you had paid that for a PCI V3 3K, then you'd really have something as they aren't as easy to get because management was of the opinion that once AGP hit the streets, demand for PCI video cards would dry up especially high end video cards. Here we are half way through 2013 and PCI video cards are still being produced, so that's just one more way that 3dfx management was short sighted. They only produced small volumes of PCI cards when there proved to still be a demand which is why you see people asking anywhere from $60-$80 for them instead of the $7-$15 that AGP cards go for.
