I am trying to run Tomb Raider using Glide on my system, but one annoying problem remains, and I have no idea how to fix it.

The problem is that objects such as doors, fences, movable blocks etc are not hidden behind Lara (or walls for that matter) as they should but instead appear in front of her.

Here is my system rundown:
Processor: Pentium 4, 1.7GHz
Graphics Processor: SiS 650 (integrated chipset on the motherboard)
Graphics Driver Version: 6.14.10.3631
Operating System: Windows XP SP2 (tried uninstalling SP2 to no avail)
GliDOS Version: 1.30

Glidos.ini configuratiion:

Name: Tomb Raider
Executable: F:\Games\Tombraid\Tombglid.exe
ExeSizes: 873739
CDCheckFile: data\Level10c.phd
DosGraphics: Yes
ControlJudderFix: 1
Resolution: 2
FullScreen: Yes
ForcedTextureSmoothing: No
Mp3BackgroundSounds: Yes
RedbookEmulation: Yes

OpenGLid.ini configuration:

Version=0.09rc8

[Options]
WrapperPriority=2
CreateWindow=0
InitFullScreen=0
EnableMipMaps=1
IgnorePaletteChange=0
Wrap565to5551=1
EnablePrecisionFix=1
EnableMultiTextureEXT=1
EnablePaletteEXT=1
EnableVertexArrayEXT=1
TextureMemorySize=16
FrameBufferMemorySize=8

D'oh... I missed this post

strange object effect in tr 1

Now, I don't seem to have a way to reconfigure the 16-bit Z-buffer on my graphics drivers. but I found a work-around nonetheless...

On the Windows Display Properties (via Control Panel or right-clicking anywhere on the Desktop), select the Settings tab then set the 'Color Quality' to 'Medium (16 bit)'

It now works fine for me.

Great! I didn't think the SiS drivers had sufficiently good OpenGL support for Glidos. Maybe they've improved then.

Heh heh, I bit my tongue to not say "WTF are you thinking playing ANY game with onboard video?" 😀

Yes, it’s my fault.
