I just picked up a couple 1.4 Ghz 512K Cache Tualatons off ebay. Looking at motherboard options. I know they will work on 815T chipsets and 440BX chipsets with a modified bios + slotket adapter.

I see a number of FCPGA to Slot1 adapters but I have no idea how to tell if it will support Tualatins or not. If I remember right there were earlier adapters that wouldn't work with Tualatons.

Most slotkets do not support running tualatin CPUs on pre-815T chipset motherboards. Those that do will say so explicitly, and usually go for high prices.

I/O, I/O,
It's off to disk I go,
With a bit and a byte
And a read and a write,
I/O, I/O

Look for Upgradeware, LinLin and Powerleap. 😉

The PowerLeap PL-iP3/T does this. Haven't tried it in SMP setups though.

eta:

supports dual-processing (SMP) for the Pentium-III and Pentium-III/S (server) processor.

Is this too much voodoo?

easy, its going to have some sort of power converter onboard. coppermine ones are basically a socket and a few jumpers.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Beware: some older bx boards do not support the low voltage the Tualatin requires. If your board does support around 1.5v you can use the upgradeware Slot-T. If not you need an adapter like the powerleap PL-iP3/T, it has it's own voltage regulator. Don't know about the linlin.

If your board does support the right voltage there is also a way to mod the cpu or fcpga slotket.

Also beware that the p3-s is a 133fsb cpu and 440BX will then run a 89mhz agp with a 133mhz fsb.
Not every agp card can handle that. Using a pci one solves this or use a Tualatin Celeron (100fsb) or downclock the p3-s.
Or ask here what people use for agp cards that can run 89mhz agp.

Use google, there is plenty of info about Tualatin on BX.
